get to know me

Hello! My name is Christie, and I’m a story + soul companion.

I see my work as a partnership with Jesus Christ—joining Him in the care of souls and the restoration of what has been broken. It is a deep privilege to listen to the stories entrusted to me, to hold space for both pain and beauty, and to bear witness to the ongoing redemption God is writing in each person’s life. Through narrative-focused storywork and the lens of interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB), we explore how being ensouled, embodied, and enstoried takes shape in the realities of our lives.

I serve as a story + soul companion and guide—offering presence, curiosity, and insight—while trusting that Christ alone is the true Healer and Redeemer. My role is to help people notice how the wounds of their past continue to shape their present, invite them to cultivate awareness of how God is inviting wholeness, freedom, and peace, and grow and attend to their relational needs.

We're ensouled, embodied, and enstoried.

Some seasons require gentle exploration and lament; others call for direct guidance and courageous honesty. Healing often involves identifying distorted beliefs about self, God, and others, naming the emotions and memories that have long gone unattended, discovering where shame told a false tale, and learning to rest in the safety of God’s love. Through it all, I aim to walk with humility and grace, always pointing to the hope and wholeness found in Christ.

Through a biblical foundation, narrative-focused storywork, and the lens of interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB), we explore our ensouled, embodied, enstoried and relational experiences that have shaped our lives.

Storywork helps us trace the narratives—spoken and unspoken—that have shaped our identity. IPNB helps us understand how our bodies and brains register pain, disruption, and disconnection, and how safety, attunement, and compassion foster integration. Together, these approaches honor the way God created us: whole beings whose soul, body, and story are deeply intertwined. This mirrors the redemptive work of Christ, who brings coherence where there was chaos, wholeness where there was fragmentation, and peace where there was fear.

Finding Wholeness

We are a people who long for healing, but it must be said that healing might be unreachable on this side of glory. That’s not to say it won’t come or that we don’t move toward it, but the true and lasting healing we long for will only materialize when Jesus returns us to the new garden. As we wait for that day, it might be better for us to set our sights on wholeness—presence, peace, and union with Christ. Healing is not a single moment but a continual process of being conformed to the image of Christ.

Counseling can be both beautiful and demanding. It may bring seasons of clarity and relief, or moments that invite deep courage and faith. Whether you are tending to long-held wounds, learning new patterns of connection, or seeking renewal in your walk with God, the aim is always restoration. Christ’s love steadies us, His truth renews our minds, and His grace leads us into lasting transformation—toward a more wholehearted way of living and loving.

What sets me apart

Experience & Expertise:

God designed us as whole beings—body, mind, and soul—each intricately connected. Because of this, my work is clinically informed while remaining firmly anchored in the hope and authority of Scripture. I am certified or have training in the following:

Personalized Approach:

First, when I say that caring for those I work with is a privilege, I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Wherever you are on your journey, I recognize that it is an unfolding story—long before you ever found me, your story was in the process of being written. As such, I do my best to not assume I know what you need. Instead, I want to help you discover and name it. We go at your pace, I’ll equip you as best I can, and hold your hand as we enter in.

Empowerment & Support:

You know your stories best, how they have shaped you, influenced you. You may just not know how to name certain parts yet. I want to help you find the language and words to describe what you’ve experienced, what you’ve lost, and how to let it all lead you to a deeper and more connected relationship with Jesus.

How my adventure began...

Childhood

The beginnings

When I think back to all the stories this little girl would experience, my heart breaks and sings. She was delightful, joyful, open and curious. Through hardship and heartache, she’d come to know suffering and sorrow in ways she wouldn’t ever have imagined. I’m still getting working through those stories, and I borrow her courage every now and again.

In 2017 I found myself at a new church, it all seemed so wonderful. And much of it was. I grew to understand doctrine, the Scriptures, and discipleship. But I would also learn the pain of dysfunctional leadership and church hurt. I have known the pain of ache of being in a church who has wounded. The Lord has been merciful to grow and educate me through it—though I would never have wanted the experience. Because of this, when people come to me naming their own concerns about their church, I’m patient, curious and compassionate to help them see with particularity what isn’t right—and then walk with them to discern what they’re being called into.

Biblical Counseling

When vocational ministry in the context of the local church became difficult to endure, the Lord led me to biblical counseling. I became certified through ABC and have been serving God’s people alongside Gospel Care Collective to join Jesus in caring for souls from a clinically-informed perspective.

Now...

Story + Soul Care

I’ve grown in a deeper understanding of a Christian Anthropology, learning alongside some incredible people. What I know more now than ever before is that we are loved into loving and we are able to do that as we lean into relationships. The Lord has been leading me to group work for a long time now. I have known the benefit in my own life, and I feel so compelled to bring others to it. I continue to learn and grow (I am a lifelong learner) and encourage others with what I’ve been encouraged with.

some fun facts

Get to know me a little better

When I’m not working...

I can often be found engrossed in a good non-fiction book accompanied by a cup of black coffee. I'm also standing in front of my art table creating some kind of beauty while I offer meager prayers up to Jesus.

I’m always up for a good...

Substack read. I'm amazed by how many wonderful writers there are out there in the world. Substack is a great place to find them.

I can't live without...

Community. Community with my kids and husband, confessional community, co-laborers. They show me I'm valued and I get to see the glory and goodness of God in them.

Also plants. My collection of plants remind me to drink water and turn my face to the sun.
