We had just moved into the neighborhood. In an effort to want to make friends with everyone, my husband and I (it was probably more my decision) decided to host monthly block parties. Our neighborhood was still new and in development, so there weren’t a lot of people. One evening while we were grilling up burgers or something, this lovely couple was on their evening walk. They walked down the street and then back up pushing a stroller filled with babies and two other kids on their hands or hip. We waived hello and they returned. So me, wanting new friends jotted over and invited them to come and crash our party.
When I was a new mama, I seemed to have all sorts of questions. Every day…nay, probably more like every hour. Amy became my mama mentor. I don’t know if it was because I was young and needed one, if she was smart and had all the answers or if it was just because she was so laid back with her kids. But we quickly became friends and amazingly enough, our husbands did, too. But then our kids grew, and life happened and well, you know how things go…in different directions. But I’m lucky that I still get to see these guys and their brood often and our memories are fond.
I love their kiddos and their twins especially have a piece of my heart. They seem to have the best memories and always mention things we used to do. love that! Anyhow, here’s their gorgeous family!
